Description
Our Carbon Fiber Solid Rods are manufactured by a pulling continuous carbon fibers combined with a resin matrix through a heated steel forming die. This process is referred to as pultrusion and is used for producing continuous lengths of composite materials with constant cross-sections.
As the carbon fibers are saturated with the resin mixture and then pulled through a round die, the hardening of the resin is initiated by the heat from the die and a rigid, cured structure is formed in the shape and size of the die. The majority of the fibers are running in the 0 degree direction, along the length of the tube, to produce an extremely stiff and lightweight rod with a very low coefficient of expansion. This type of construction offers a high stiffness to weight ratio rod with incredible linear strength, due to the orientation of the carbon fibers, and tight outer diameter (OD) tolerances.
Our Carbon Fiber Solid Rods have a matte finish surface and are easily bondable..

Wow these .500 diameter, 48″ rods are super nice! I got these to be cores to craft a couple bar mace great weapons for Amtgard larp. Carbon fiber weapon cores are top tier in any larp weapons as they are light, fast, and super strong. I have never seen solid ones though so I was nervous to order these. After handling them, however, I was pleasantly pleased to feel how light they were, even in one hand. Next time I will try the .312 or .375 rods for even speedier weapons. .500 is perfect since a lot of high quality foam weapon cores happen to have .500 as a inner diameter, so you can take some nice adhesive and slip them on. I recommend the hexagon ones from Silver Lining Armory or the omni noodles from Gorg tech. I think a larp specific section would do this website some good. Thanks for having these available for single order. Usually you just want to lob the heads off of carbon fiber golf clubs from the thrift store for nice cheap cores, but it is almost impossible to find matching ones on the secondary market, and they are too expensive to simply destroy brand new ones, so being able to order these was nice.
