Breather Cloth

Description

Airtech’s Airweave® is a thin, stretchable, high fill non-woven polyester breather/bleeder material designed for low pressure cures and conforms well to the contours of a part. Breather Cloth is recommend when working under 40 PSI and is suitable in vacuum bagging applications up to 400°F (204°C).

When used as a breather, this material allows the evacuation of air from inside the bag to occur while vacuum bagging. It allows for even pressure to be applied over the entire surface and provides a source for any gases produced during the cure cycle to be evacuated from the laminate.

A Non-Porous Release Film can be used to prevent the Breather Cloth from absorbing resin, enabling it to become reusable. When a porous or Perforated Release Film is used with the Breather Cloth, the resin content of the laminate can be more easily controlled and minimal resin is allowed to be absorbed into the Breather Cloth.

Furthermore, Breather Cloth can be used as a bleeder cloth. Resin can bleed from the laminate and be absorbed into the Breather Cloth. Breather Cloth can be used as a bleeder cloth at any pressure and is simply discarded after the vacuum bagging process.
