Description
Porous Teflon® Coated Fiberglass is fiberglass fabric coated with a thin Teflon® layer which forms a porous non- bondable fabric. Often used as the first barrier between the composite laminate and the rest of the vacuum bagging materials, Porous Teflon® Coated Fiberglass is used to control the resin content of a laminate when vacuum bagging.
When applied on top of a wet laminate and covered with Breather Cloth, excess resin is drawn through the porous material and blotted up by the Breather Cloth. The amount of resin removed is contingent upon the number of layers of Breather Cloth used. A lightly textured imprint of the woven fabric will remain on the surface of the laminate.
Porous Teflon® Coated Fiberglass can be used in conventional vacuum bagging, resin infusion and prepreg part manufacturing and is suitable in vacuum bagging applications up to 500°F (260°C).
